The short version

RUYA uses the information you enter to provide your journal, interpretations, chat, images, audio, and other features. We do not sell your personal information, and your dreams or chats are not used to choose ads for you.

What RUYA handles

This includes the dreams, notes, profile details, chat messages, and feedback you choose to provide; the results RUYA creates for you; and basic app, device, subscription, and diagnostic information needed to run the app. RUYA also creates an app account behind the scenes so features can work across sessions.

How features work

When you save a dream, the content needed to create your interpretation and image is shared with our AI providers. Our current AI providers include OpenAI, DeepSeek, and Stability AI. Other optional features, such as chat, voice input, audio, iCloud syncing, and subscriptions, share only the information needed to provide the feature you use. Providers may change as RUYA evolves, and we will update this policy when a material change affects your information. We require our service providers to protect information consistently with this policy and use it only to provide their services.

Optional ads and tracking

You may choose to watch a rewarded ad to unlock content. When you tap “Watch Ad,” iOS may ask whether you allow tracking. If you allow it, our advertising partner may use your device’s advertising identifier to make ads more relevant and measure performance. If you decline, you can still watch the ad and receive the same unlock.

Keeping RUYA safe

RUYA may reject serious illegal or harmful content, restrict an account, and keep related content and technical records when needed to protect users and the service. We may preserve or share available information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to address a serious and immediate safety risk, including risks to children. Automated decisions can be wrong; contact us to appeal.

Storage and deletion

Your saved journal copy generally remains on your device or in your private iCloud until you delete it. Content shared to provide an AI or other optional feature is also handled by the relevant service provider. Other information is kept only as reasonably needed to operate and protect RUYA, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. You can delete content or use RUYA’s in-app account and data deletion option. Some safety or legal records may need to be kept.

Your choices

You decide what to enter and which optional features to use. You can manage permissions such as iCloud, notifications, microphone, speech, and tracking in iOS Settings, and applicable ad privacy choices inside RUYA. RUYA is intended for adults and must not be used by anyone under 18.
